Boris Dilli&egrave;s, mayor of Uccle since 2017 and a member of MR, replaces Rudi Vervoort as Brussels minister-president. The five members of the government subsequently took the oath of office.</strong></p><p>Next to his position as minister-president, Dilli&egrave;s will also oversee Security and Prevention. &quot; With his experience as mayor, he knows Brussels perfectly and has proven his abilities as a team leader,&quot; MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez wrote on X on Saturday. Valentine Delwart will replace him as mayor of Uccle.</p><p>Dilli&egrave;s only learned of his appointment on Saturday morning. He received a phone call from Bouchez around 7 o&#039;clock and then took some time to think about it. &quot; It was somewhat of a surprise,&quot; he told press ahead of the parliamentary session. &quot;I wasn&#039;t a candidate. But it&#039;s an honour and a big challenge, because we all know the challenges Brussels faces.&quot;</p><div id=\"video-e6cd0150-66bf-4f1d-9643-fc1de74a06fd\" class=\"release-content-video release-content-video--embed release-content-video--contained\">\n <div><div style=\"left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%;\"><iframe data-iframely-url=\"https://cdn.iframe.ly/api/iframe?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.uc.assets.prezly.com%2Fe1503f99-cf82-4174-a701-f26607663095%2FBelgaimage-163330848.mp4%23_cb1771058879&key=8fe6cdec03482ac31f27a6ae8ea2fb3f\" style=\"top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;\" allowfullscreen allow=\"encrypted-media *;\"></iframe></div></div><script async src=\"https://cdn.iframe.ly/embed.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"></script>\n</div><p>The other four ministers were also sworn in.
